The Festool TS 55 EQ Plunge Cut Saw: Tid Bits, page two.

The 48 tooth ATB blade (part number 491952) that comes with the TS55 is an exceptional all purpose blade. I do find the Panther rip blade to be useful also.

You can use the TS55 without a dust extractor. I do, however, strongly recommend using one. Dust collection with a Festool vacuum attached can be from 80% to over 90% . The Festool D27 and D36 hoses will fit the TS saws, with the larger D36 hose giving a little better performance.

The cover plate pictured here improves dust collection by covering the hole in the blade housing. You have probably noticed the sticker on the saw by now with the 1/4"=15mm and so on, that is my quick reference sticker that I added so I know what to set the saw depth to (when the saw is used with the guide rail).

To get the best results from your TS55, make sure you have a good cutting platform and use the right blade for the job. This is one tool that really does live up to the hype.
